Overseas Marriage dialog
If preparing your own homestead for heavy traffic wasn't already enough, Zynga has added a new series of Goals to FrontierVille called "Overseas Marriage." In these five goals, your distant aunt asks you to make some serious preparations for a relative who happens to be tying the knot across the way in the old country.
There are lots of rewards to be won and XP to gain, so join us after the break for a full guide on these new goals.
Overseas Marriage, Part 1 of 5
Just looking at the first requirement of Part I should raise a red flag: you need to have completed the original marriage goals in order to attempt these new goals. Crafting Presents requires the General Store as a work bench as well as 2 Ribbon and 5 Cloth for each present. You can get cloth naturally through doing favors for your friends, but will have to visit quite a lot of friends to both make 10 Presents and have 60 Cloth--which comes to 110 Cloth, to be exact. Completing this goal will net you 150 XP and one random General Store Collection item.
Overseas Marriage Part II
Part II requires even more Cloth to finish, so it's back to visiting your friends and doing more favors. Can you tell these goals weren't designed to be completed in a day's time? We suggest just making the Clothes in the cabin first as they'll be used in making the Fancy Clothing in the General Store. You'll also need Ribbon, so remember to ask your friends for a lot of it. One random Cabin Collection item and 200 coins is your reward for finishing this goal.
Overseas Marriage Part III
It's time to get your cook on in Part III. The best way to amass food is to through everyday activities, but visiting your friends and helping them out in tending to animals and harvesting crops will certainly speed up the process. The rest of this goal is pretty simple: just use the food and coins to make Batter in the Inn and ask your friends to gift you the 10 Lard. Finishing this goal scores you one Dinner.
Overseas Marriage Part IV
This goal is a piece of you-know-what, requiring you to just use the Batter from the last goal coupled with quite a lot of Fire, which can be made in the Wagon with 7 Wood and 5 Cloth a piece. All the while, harvest 10 Potatoes and you'll soon enough grab 500 coins and one Inn Collection item.
Overseas Marriage Part V
It looks like your distant relative is jumping the gun a bit in Part V, asking for a Bed and Baby Clothes. The Bed calls for one Furnishing and two Comforters to be crafted on the Sawmill. Here's the logical progression that will get you to your grand Feather Bed gift:
5 Planks: 7 Wood and 250 coins each in the Covered Wagon
4 Sawhorses: 5 Planks and 2 Tools each in the Barn
1 Furnishing: 4 Sawhorses and 4 Tools on the Sawmill
But that's not all! You also need two Comforters, which are made from 15 Cloth and one Downy Feather a piece in the Chicken Coop. Combining both the Furnishings and the Comforters will finally make your bed. In the meantime, remember to ask your friends for the baby Clothes. Completing this goal is to complete the mission and win two Boiled Shoes (Living on the frontier sure must have been fun...) and a whopping 500 XP.
It's been a while since we've seen a series of goals use just about every crafting building in the game, so this is a refreshing challenge. Good luck on your quest to wish your distant relatives the best wedding they've ever seen.

New FrontierVille mission: It's Chicken Roundup Time!
A new limited time quest has launched in FrontierVille today, called "It's Chicken Roundup Time!" Like the other limited time missions, you'll have to accept this mission by a certain date, in this case November 21, and finish the quest within 3 days of accepting it.
In this case, the mission asks you to Sell 50 Adult Chickens, Collect 12 Shipping Labels, and Collect Ten Pairs of Hip Boots. Hopefully you've saved some of the chickens you've had to purchase for other missions, or even those given away by friends when they clobber foxes on their own Homesteads, as you'll need a lot of them for this quest.
Additionally, depending on how far you or your neighbors are into the Aunt's List quest line, you may already have the 12 Shipping Labels in your inventory, ready to use. Either way, as these Hip Boots are a new item, you'll need to post a news item to your wall so that your friends will be able to send them to you. Luckily, you've got a full three days to collect the boots that you need, so the rush is lessened this time around (as opposed to, say, the Canning Jars in a previous timed mission).
As a reward for finishing the quest, you'll receive the Rabbit Rotisserie decorative item. Will your farmers be eating rabbit for Thanksgiving this year as opposed to turkey? Only time will tell, but we'll be sure to let you know when/if more of these kinds of missions become available to complete in the game.

FrontierVille 'Holiday Decoratin' and 'Holiday Celebratin' Missions: Everything you need to know
Holiday Decoratin'
Everyone knows that decorations are more important on Christmas, Hanukkah and the other winter holidays than any other special day of the year. Just look at Clark Griswold--now there is a guy that gets it. It only makes sense that our friends in FrontierVille would feel the same way. Except without all the fake drum rolls and disappointment. Here are the two missions you can find in the Special section of the Market:
1. Holiday Decoratin':
-Craft 15 Presents
-Collect Two Pink Flowers
-Collect 10 Holly Wreaths
For this mission, you'll need to visit your friends often and harvest lots of Cotton to amass enough Ribbon and Cloth to craft 15 Presents. The two Pink Flowers come from the Wildflower Collection, which can be completed by clearing Wildflowers much like grass and rocks--just remember not to turn in the Collection before completing the mission. All the while, keep berating those friends for some wreaths, but try to return the favor because there's always one wreath in it for you.
Holiday Celebratin'2. Holiday Celebratin':
-Collect Three Cow's Milk
-Collect Three Goose Eggs
-Craft 20 Fireworks
Time to unleash the eggnog, but where's the rum? You'll have to tend to quite a lot of Cows and Geese to get three of each of those items. And remember: do not turn in the Collections before completing this mission or you will be that much further behind and a very sad pioneer. Crafting the Fireworks takes Saltpeter, which only drops from the Manure Collection. Thankfully, each Saltpeter used in Cabin makes for five Fireworks, but this is still going to be a long mission. Completing this Goal will reward you with a Big Present that will contain one of four rare decorations.
These missions are part of the three Gift Mission packs, so they can be repeated indefinitely until they predictably go away after Christmas is through. So, decorate and celebrate to your heart's content, just remember to keep on visiting for that Cloth and Energy.

FrontierVille Gingerbread House Goals: Everything you need to know
Gingerbread House WhackingYou pioneers are never satisfied, are you? First, it's the Buildable Snowman. Then Zynga gives you 12 days of Christmas Goals. And now, because that clearly wasn't enough, it threw in one of the most elaborate cross promotions you've ever seen this side of Rattlesnake Canyon: The Gingerbread House. Man, you FrontierVille players are just plain spoiled.
It seems that this adorable little gingerbread man is having trouble building his home this Christmas season as everywhere he's gone, people have literally eaten him out of house and home. In order to help, you'll need to go back to the three locales he's tried to build at and retrieve the essential ingredients to his home: CityVille, Treasure Isle and Mafia Wars. After placing his house on the homestead and giving it a few good whacks (that cost Food this time rather than Wood, get it?), you'll be greeted by this Building's menu. (If you're having trouble finding him, he's hanging out with the Carolers near the Toy Factory.)
Find out how to complete this Goal spanning several Zynga games after the break.
Finish your Gingerbread House
We'll get the easy--well, easier--stuff out of the way first. In addition to traveling to three different game worlds, you will need 15 Pretzels, 10 Gingerbread Slabs and 10 Frosting Tubes. All three of these items are acquired the old fashioned way: begging, of course. So, keep up on tapping your friends for these Gifts while you gallivant about three games.
Paul's Improvements
Let's start with finding a Chocolate Bar in CityVille. Clicking on the "Earn for Free" button will take you to a confirmation screen that will then launch you into your own city. From there, click on the Horseshoe icon to get started with "Paul's Improvements." Here, you'll need to do three simple tasks: place two Asphalt Roads, collect from five Residences and place three Decorations (yawn). Find the Asphalt Roads in the Decorations tab of the Build menu for 10 coins a pop. Also in that same tab will be where you can find three Decorations, so pick any three and put them any old place. Then, just click on five Residences with the coin icon hovering above them. If you're trying to save money or don't have any room for this nonsense, just delete it when your done using the Remove tool. For doing this, you'll receive 50 coins.
For some reason, completing the Goal won't return you to FrontierVille automatically nor did it instantly reward me with the Chocolate Bar. Only after jumping back into FrontierVille and following the same link that go me into CityVille from the game in the first place made Paul reappear, allowing me to jump back into FrontierVille to claim my Chocolate Bar. Next, let's take a stroll down the shady streets of Mafia Wars to get the next item, the Candy Cane.
Mafia Wars Candy Cane
Following the same process again, but for Mafia Wars, will take you where you need to be for the Candy Cane. For new or low level Mafia Wars players, this is going to be cake. For the veterans out there, have fun, OK? All you need to do in Mafia Wars to get the Candy Cane is gain one level above Level 5 through Jobs, which won't be so easy for the Level 100-plus players out there. Once you level up, you should receive a similar message to that from CityVille, prompting you to return to FrontierVille and open up your Candy Cane. Next, let's dive into Treasure Isle for the final item, the Gum Drops.
Treasure Isle Gum Drops
This Goal should be even easier than the last for most. For players above Level 4 (it's a requirement), all you need to do is find five Treasures... anywhere. So, you could probably just go about your business and work on whatever it is your currently tackling. Then, you should receive a similar confirmation as before, transporting you back to the homestead with Gum Drops in hand. If this doesn't happen automatically--this goes for Mafia Wars too--try the trick mentioned above. It worked in CityVille, so it might work the same way here. Now that you know what to do, go forth and conquer the worlds of what might soon be the misfit Zynga games, cowering in the shadow of the mighty CityVille empire.

FrontierVille Gingerbread Man Goals: Everything you need to know
Check out the rest of our Holiday 2010 coverage right here.
If you thought you were done with the scrumptious-looking Gingerbread House in FrontierVille, think again. As it turns out, the Gingerbread Man's stay on the homestead is part of a series of three Goals starting with "Building the Gingerbread Man a Home." And if you followed our guide on how to build it, you've already got the hardest part of this Goal out of the way.
As for the other two requirements, you've been asked to plant five Fruit Trees. This means that you can plant five fruit-bearing trees of any kind to fulfill this portion of the Goal. So, if you're living on the cheap, just go with five Cherry Trees. That will only cost you a total of 3,100 coins and will be ready harvest in the least amount of time, which leads us to the final requirement. All you need to do is harvest or water 20 fruit trees on your homestead. If you don't have 20 trees already, this will take some extra cash and time, but for those with bigger homesteads this should be easy pickings. Enjoy the 150 XP, 250 coins and Light Snack as a reward for your hard work.
Find out how to best complete Part II and III of the Gingerbread Man Goals after the break.
Eaten Gingerbread HousePart II of the Gingerbread Man Goals requires the unthinkable (and, if the forums are any indication, annoying): you must eat the Gingerbread House. I guess your pioneer, after witnessing its sweet, cavity-inducing glory, decided that they just could not resist. Well, that's my suspension of disbelief, anyway. And to go with that delicious Gingerbread House, you'll need two Milk from the Cow Collection and 15 Cloth (napkins... get it?). As always, Cloth comes from visiting friends, but if you don't have any Milk saved you'll have to try your luck at finding it at random from tending Cows. Once this is completed, 200 XP, 500 coins and 75 Food await you.
Brace yourselves, Part III is somewhat of a doozie. You're going to have to rebuild that Gingerbread House you just gorged. Let that sink in a little bit before we move on. You're good? Great. Now, this means that you'll need to do the same three cross-game Goals again and ask for the same three items from friends, according to several forum members whose posts have since been removed. But that's not all. In addition to rebuilding the little guy's crib, you will also have to harvest any crop 150 times and harvest 50 of your friends' fruit trees. While you don't have to harvest the same 150 crops, you're probably better off just picking one crop and sticking to it like the Clovers or Tomatoes, the cheapest, fastest crops in the game. Either way, this Goal is going to be time consuming for most, to say the least. You're reward for getting there and back again will be 450 XP, 2,500 coins and a Mini Gingerbread House. Now that you know what to do, go on and make that Gingerbread Man one happy cookie.

FrontierVille Resolution Missions: Finish all six and score 50 free Horseshoes
Whether or not you've started on your real-life New Year's resolutions, you will also get the chance to try your hand at a series of new virtual resolutions in FrontierVille. The FrontierVille resolutions mission consists of six different 'resolutions' that you need to complete before January 31 if you want the big payoff.
What is the big payoff -- aside from being virtually healthy, weathy and wise? You will be the proud new owner a new badge, a book of experience, which can be used to level up faster and 50 Horseshoes, which is roughly the equivalent of $6. Maybe you can use the extra currency to buy a few boosts or maybe even that awesome Double Rainbow decoration you've had your eye on for months (OK, fine -- I'm talking about myself -- I can't wait to get that friggin' rainbow!). frontiervillel resolution missions
The six resolutions can each be purchased for coins (either on this resolutions screen or in the store) and each has a suggested level you should be to complete each one. The first ones start off easy and then get more progressively difficult as you go on.
Below are the six missions, how much they cost and just what you need to do in each to get the job done. Here's a few things you should start on right now to make sure you finish your resolutions in time: 1. Plant 30 Cabbages and 50 Flax. 2. If you don't have 'em already, make sure you have 50 of the following: cows, oxen goats (you'll need to sell 50 adults of each animal for the last mission, so the sooner you get started the better). 3. Buy all six missions at once, so you'll can get credit for all of your daily activities like tending animals and clearing rocks. It'll cost 32,000 coins, and it'll be worth it.

FrontierVille: Decorate for Valentine's Day and win up to 750 Horseshoes
After the release of a slew of Valentine's Day themed decorations in the FrontierVille market, Zynga has decided to give users some major incentive to actually purchase them by launching a Valentine's Day decorating contest. Don't get worried though - you won't need to rush out and shop before February 14 in order to enter, as you'll have a full week after the holiday has come and gone - until February 21 to be exact.
So what exactly does this contest entail? It's simple really - just decorate your homestead in a way that screams of Valentine's Day decorating and celebratin' and then post up to three images of the same homestead (that is, if your decorated plot is larger than a single screenshot can contain) and then post them on the official FrontierVille forums. The top ten homestead designs will be chosen by the FrontierVille team, and then users will have a chance to vote for their favorites of the ten in a poll.
The top choice will win 750 Horseshoes, but two other players will win 500 Horseshoes and 300 Horseshoes, respectively. That's a whole lot of premium currency for doing something that you might likely be doing anyhow - that being decorating your land for Valentine's Day. Wouldn't you like to receive something out of it in return?

FrontierVille Fanny versus Bess decorations appear; the heat is on
So, which team are you on? In an obvious (and almost painful) nod to Twilight, Zynga has released both the two Mystery Crates found yesterday and a slew of decorations to FrontierVille in honor of a mini-event of sorts. Except instead of sparkly vampires against eternally shirtless werewolves, it's Fanny versus Bess. It's your job to take a side--if you're willing to put some Horseshoes behind your decision.
Here are all the decorations that were added in light of this strange event:
Bess' Lasso – 4 Horseshoes
Bess' Diorama – 3,800 coins
Bess' Flower – 2,850 coins
Fanny's Desk – 4 Horseshoes
Fanny's books – 3,800 coins
Fanny's flowers – 2,850 coins
Luckily, only two of these items cost Horseshoes. While there isn't any major event tied to these decorations, I'd imagine that something much bigger is cooking. A cage fight? A triathlon, perhaps? Well, whatever is, we'll be all over it.
[Source and Image Credit: FrontierVille Info]
Have you picked any of these decorations in the game yet? Which side are you on--Fanny or Bess?

FrontierVille Design Your Horse Contest: Draw up the next Horse on the homestead
If you've ever wanted to be a super famous game designer, Zynga is giving FrontierVille fans a sliver of that chance. In the brand new Design Your Horse Contest, players can draw up what they think should be the next Horse to hit the homestead. Submit your artwork by May 27, because after that, the Zynga community team will decide on 10 finalists for the community to then vote upon. To choose the winner, players will soon have to answer a poll in which they narrow down their top three choices. Based on that information, we'll have our design champion soon enough.
According to the official rules, the grand prize winner will have his Horse design incorporated into the game and win both a FrontierVille t-shirt and 500 Horseshoes. The second and third place winners will each score 100 Horseshoes--still not too shabby for throwing a sketch together and scanning it.
You can use pen, pencil, markers, crayons, and even software to mold your very own Horse out of the outline provided by Zynga (pictured right). Modifying the outline in any way is grounds for disqualification, so just follow the rules. That means no unicorns, got it?

Are you entering the Horse Design Contest? What do you think the judges are expecting from submissions?

Building the FrontierVille Livestock Pen: Everything you need to know
Today marks a special day for animal lovers in FrontierVille, who may be questioning selling off some of their adult animals simply because they take up so much room. Now, a Livestock Pen is available to build on your Homestead, that will allow you to store adult Sheep, Goats and Pigs inside. Of course, you won't simply receive a completed Livestock Pen - you'll have to build one from scratch.
The frame of the Livestock Pen is available for free, and you'll receive it once this update rolls around to your game. You'll need to whack the frame (each whack costs 15 Wood), and you'll then need to collect six all new ingredients to finish the building off. The six new items are the Wooden Post, Woven Wire, Feeding Trough, Grain Bin, Water Bucket, and Breeder's Digest. The latter three items can be asked for via individual gift requests sent to your friends, while the Wooden Post, Woven Wire, and Feeding Trough are earned through general news feed items.
Once you complete the Livestock Pen, you'll be able to use the building to store up to 100 animals inside, and can feed them all at once, similar to how you can feed large quantities of adult chickens inside the Chicken Coop. When you collect the bonus from your Livestock Pen, you'll also have a chance to received one of three new animals: a Black Pig, White Goat and Gray Sheep, as seen below.
Ultimately, there are missions that go along with building the Livestock Pen, and we'll make sure to bring you a complete guide over those missions as soon as we can and you can check out our complete guide to completing those missions right here! For now, start asking your friends to send you these items so you can store those animals and clear room on your Homestead!

FrontierVille Livestock Pen Goals: Everything you need to know
Earlier this evening, we brought you the step-by-step guide for building your new Livestock Pen on your Homestead in FrontierVille. Along with working on this time-consuming building, you can also work on an accompanying set of four Livestock Pen goals, which we'll talk about here.
The first goal is called "This Little Piggie," and it asks you to complete three very simple tasks:
Tend 15 Pigs Anywhere
Hire Bess
Have or Place a Livestock Pen
The Livestock Pen's base is all that needs to be built on your Homestead for this task to complete. Meanwhile, you can tend either 15 of your own pigs, or pigs on your neighbors' Homesteads until you reach 15. As we said - it shouldn't be too hard to find 15 pigs in total, so you'll pass this one quickly. For completing this first mission, you'll receive 50 Food and 500 XP. Part II of this four-part series is called Baa Baa Black Sheep, and yes, it deals with both Sheep and Wool.
Tend 20 Sheep Anywhere
Collect 15 Bags of Wool
Harvest 20 Corn
The Sheep, just as with the Pigs, can be tended on your own Homestead, or on your neighbors'. Meanwhile, you'll need to use your neighbors' help to acquire the Bags of Wool, by sending individual gift requests to friends. Finishing this second quest gives you 750 XP and 100 Food.
For Part III of IV, you'll move onto the last of the three animals associated with the Livestock Pen - the Goat.
Tend 30 Goats Anywhere
Collect 15 Goat Hats
Store One Animal in your Livestock Pen
This is the first goal that will actually require you to complete your Livestock Pen's construction. For a complete look at how to do just that, click right here to check out our guide. Just remember to save some gift requests, so that you can ask your friends for the Goat Hats. This third mission has some pretty nice rewards, at least in terms of the XP gained: 1,000 XP and 150 Food.
Finally, we move onto Part IV of IV, which will likely be the most time consuming of the bunch.
Clear 25 Debris on your Neighbors' Homesteads
Collect Two Daily Bonuses from the Livestock Pen
Store 100 Animals in the Livestock Pen
You'll can only store adult animals in the Livestock Pen, so start stocking up on adult Pigs, Goats, and Sheep now to not have to grow all new animals just to complete this task (and then wait even longer to do so). If you're lucky, you'll just have to wait the full 24 hours for your Daily Bonus to recharge and can then call these missions complete. Your prizes for finishing off this mission series are great - 1,500 XP, 2,000 coins, and a Black Sheep.
Hopefully, with the release of the Livestock Pen, this doesn't mean that any sort of nasty new Varmint will be added to the game that will eat our Goats, Pigs, or Sheep that are outside of the building. Luckily, that doesn't seem to be the case right now, but we'll make sure to keep an eye on things either way.
Check out the rest of our FrontierVille Cheats & Tips right here.
What do you think of the Livestock Pen Goals? Are you getting backed up with all of these recent goals released in the game, or do you appreciate the challenge of having multiple goal sets at once?

What do you think of the Livestock Pen Goals? Are you getting backed up with all of these recent goals released in the game, or do you appreciate the challenge of having multiple goal sets at once?
FrontierVille Livestock Pen Collection offers XP and energy for tending animals
With the release of the Livestock Pen in FrontierVille comes the launch of a new collection to go along with this new building. The Livestock Pen Collection contains five all-new items to the game, and can be completed in the same manner as you'd expect - either by earning them at random when whacking the frame of the Livestock Pen as you're building it, or by receiving these items at random when collecting the building's Daily Bonus.
Here's what to keep an eye out for:
Feed Bags
Loose Straw
Ear Tags
Clippers
Dewormer
When you finish finding all five of these items, you can turn in the collection for 50 XP and a +5 energy boost. To be clear, that's five free points of energy as a refill, not a change in your overall maximum energy. Personally, I'm a bit disappointed in these prizes. Sure, the extra energy can come in handy when tending animals or crops, but I would much prefer to see exclusive decorations, after putting in the time it takes to complete most building collections. Maybe that's just me...
What do you think? Do you like collection awards to be exclusive decorations or items you can't find anywhere else, or do you like the experience point or coin rewards?

FrontierVille: 50% off Horseshoe sale back on for a limited time
Holy cow, I think I might faint. Seriously, after never seeing any real sales on FrontierVille's Horseshoe packages, we've now seen two sales in the same month! More importantly, unlike the sale that took place earlier this month, today's 50% off sale hasn't been advertised as being available for just one hour, giving more players a chance to stock up!
If you missed out on this sale last time, here's your chance to purchase anywhere from 75 to 2,100 Horseshoes for a little over $5, all of the way up to over $100 and change. Here are the specific packages that are available (all prices are in US Dollars):
75 Horseshoes - $5.41 (down from $10.82)
170 Horseshoes - $10.82 (down from $21.64)
465 Horseshoes - $27.05 (down from $54.10)
1,000 Horseshoes - $54.10 (down from $108.10)
2,100 Horseshoes - $108.20 (down from $217.40)
Am I suggesting everyone go out spend $108 on Horseshoes? Definitely not, but if you're even remotely interested in stocking up on Horseshoes for future Mystery Crates and other premium content, the $5 package contains enough Horseshoes for at least one splurge purchase, and won't break the bank.
On the other side of the token (horseshoe?), you can also purchase discounted coin packages, if you'd rather not earn your coins for free by simply playing the game. Less packages are available, but you can pick up anywhere from 7,500 to 100,000 coins, if you feel so inclined.
There's no exact expiration date or time for when this sale will end, so make sure to take advantage now while you have the best chance of it still being available. Who knows, if this sale is productive for Zynga's pocketbook, perhaps 50% off Horseshoe sales will become a more frequent thing! I don't know about you, but I definitely wouldn't complain about that!
Will you stock up on Horseshoes in FrontierVille during this limited time sale, or are you still trying to spend the Horseshoes you purchased from the last sale? What will you splurge on with these Horseshoes? Do you have a particular item in mind, or will you just save them for future use?
